Experience

In the course of spending hundreds of hours at various levels of the District, I have developed a broad knowledge of our schools and district and the issues and challenges they face, including curriculum requirements, finances, the facilities renovation program, teacher and staff compensation, and state funding policy impacts. My strong background provides the management experience to weigh financial and educational issues and make tough decisions when needed. I have the qualifications needed to lead LASD to continued success.

Los Altos School District Experience:

  • Parent of two young children; my son is a second grader at Loyola Elementary and our daughter will start kindergarten there next year
  • Breadth of understanding of educational issues at the classroom, school and district level:
    • PTA Legislative Chairperson, resulting in knowledge of broad educational issues
    • Los Altos School District Board and Advisory Board meeting regular attendee leading to an in-depth knowledge of district issues and operations
    • Site Council member, focused on school's curriculum
    • Over a hundred volunteer hours spent in the classroom helping children learn and gaining insight on classroom needs and successful teaching strategies
Work Experience:
  • I have over 20 years of high tech marketing experience in the Silicon Valley, most recently serving as a Director of Product Marketing and as a consultant to several start-up companies.
